What - Bodegas Loxarel is a small family estate in the Arid mountains of Alt Penedes just inland from Barcelona. The Loxarel estate is run and owned by Joseph Mitjans. Joseph is immensily passionate about his vines and the natural world that surrounds them which is why he chooses to work strictly in keeping with biodynamics. He doesn't put any chemicals on his soils. He uses companion planting to mitigate against pests and uses the phases of the moon to determine when things need to happen. Did we mention he has a herd of goats to keep the soil healthy.
 
The Cora has to be his flagship white. Its a blend of hand harvested Xarel-lo and muscat, fermented and aged in stainless steel and bottled with minimal sulphite. The result is insane. This white is intense on the nose and palette with flavours of rose, jasmine, peach flesh and apricot.
